Club Events

on all winery events, Iconoclast Club members are invited

Iconoclast Appreciation Weekend
- Wine and Cheese Pairing
Iconoclast Club members were able to
learn food and wine pairing while enjoying specifically chosen cheeses
to accompany their wine tasting. Jody teamed up with Kurt and Natasha
from Epicurean Picnic to find the best cheeses to complement
Carina Cellars Viognier and Carina Cellars Syrah. After sampling
numerous options, they decided on Robiola Bosina, a soft northern
Italian cheese, and Vella Dry Monterey Jack, a classic hard cheese
made in Sonoma county. Notes on the cheese pairings:
Robiola Bosina
A rich and mildly pungent soft cheese from northern Italy.
This cheese is a blend of sheep, cow, and goat’s milk. The
texture of Robiola pairs well with Carina Cellars Viognier and brings
out some of the softer tropical flavors characteristic of Viognier.
Vella Dry Monterey Jack
The Vella family started making cheese in 1931 and have stuck to
their philosophy of high quality ingredients and hands-on techniques
ever since. They specialize in Monterey Jack cheese and have won
many awards over the years for their superb products. This particular
cheese has been aged an extra 7-10 months giving it a nice firm
texture, pale yellow color, and sweet nutty flavor. Paired with
Carina Cellars Syrah this cheese makes a big impact on the taste
buds producing a subtle caramel finish and a full, creamy mouthfeel.
